  • Argosy University
    Academic Manager
    Argosy University Jan 2015 - Apr 2018

Better known as The Fixer for my perseverance to find solutions to the obstacles that kept students from persisting in their education. I led a team of 17 Academic Counselors responsible for the support of almost 5K online students in programs ranging from undergraduate to doctoral level degrees, with record high student retention and successful completion. My method of getting to record highs? Running a close knit team that approached problems as a group, identifying systems and processes that prevented students from being successful and then fixing those processes, and working with various departments to take a holistic approach that created a superior student experience. I also spent a lot of time working with the training department to create trainings for student services and admissions both in online and on ground. Here a few of my accomplishments I am most proud of.★ Analyzed and improved KPIs, including exceeding an 85%+ retention rate YOY with a 76% successful completion rate.★ Piloted, developed and successfully implemented an Academic Coordinator department that reduced document processing times by 67%.★ Developed a contact strategy to optimize student support, implementing to academic counselors through training and coaching led to record high student retention of 89% and successful completion rates of 78%★ Doing the robot dance in morning huddles when I forgot what I was talking about.

I mentored and assisted with the onboarding of new hires within the Academic Counseling department. In the franchise department I assisted in training initiatives including training the managers of new stores in the daily operations of all front of house roles. I loved coordinating events designed to maintain relationships with current customers and attract new clientele. The experience I think I was the most jazzed about, due to my love for data, was conducting competitive analysis to improve layout and products offered on the menu by designing a survey, collecting data and running statistical tests.★ Trained the management of 16 new locations in serving, bartending, host and cashier operations to mitigate mistakes and costs..★ Fostered relationships with current and potential sponsors of events, connecting with representatives of vendor organizations collecting $50,000 in sponsorship money.★ Managed company donations to various charities and increased donations by $30,000.★ Executed a new Blues Night event to attract new business generating approximately $250,000 in revenue annually.
