Life is too short not to experience laughter, joy, and fulfillment in your career. I thrive in an environment where meaningful work is accomplished alongside a team that knows that it is ok to not take yourself too seriously. I think everyone works best when they feel part of a community that respects, values, and encourages each other. I have nearly a decade of classroom experience as an elementary educator. Almost all of my years have been focused on ELA and social studies instruction. Analyzing questions, answers, and evidence counts as a fun time in my book! I have a great deal of experience in taking what resources I have and find a way to make them work my school community. Teachers are the champions of finding solutions! Working in a Title I school with diverse learners has pushed me to always grow my practice to find new and interesting ways to accomplish goals. When you work with anyone who has worked in a classroom, you find yourself in the company of a person who is never satisfied with the way things are. There’s always room for improvement! Growth mindset is key, both personally and professionally.The world of technology as it relates to education is full of potential and excitement, and I am passionate about making sure students have equitable access. In my role, I continue to see the need to support educators in leveraging technology to help make learning interesting, challenging, and accessible. When I think about the future of my career, educational technology is the path I envision. I just might be the person who obsesses over attention to detail and organization. I’m not embarrassed to admit color coding and bins bring me happiness! I love problem solving and finding ways to make things streamlined. I’m fueled forward by others noticing my hard work and hearing that I found a way to make things easier for them. I take pride in knowing that others can count on me.
