I am a partner with Alan Robinson providing services to the voluntary, community and faith sectors. My particular role is carrying out feasibility studies, business planning, strategic development, developing funding strategies, small scale pieces of research and evaluations. This complements the work of Alan who can provide support with legal issues and governance and, between us, we can provide a whole package of support to an organisation.

I have held three posts as an employed community development worker, all involved in neighbourhood work. The first post was with a community organisation in inner city Birmingham; the other two were in church based organisations in Scunthorpe and Gainsborough. Since 1992, I have worked in community development consultancy, carrying out a number of contracts in Yorkshire and Humber and in the East Midlands. For three years, between 2008 and 2010, I was the regional co-ordinator for Community Matters in Yorkshire and the Humber. I still continue to carry out consultancy work for them.ResearchI gained both my Master's degrees and PhD by research using qualitative methods. I have carried out a number of research contracts for voluntary and community organisations. I also carried out a research project for North Lincolnshire Council in 2000 into the state of funding in the local voluntary sector and had a long term contract with the Countryside Agency to work with parish councils assisting them with carrying out parish transport surveys. The latter used both qualitative and quantitative methods. Over the past six years, I have worked with a number of groups helping them to carry out the surveys required to develop parish plans. I can use data analysis software.
