As an Associate Professor and research group leader at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), my work is driven by a deep interest in the cardiovascular consequences and mechanisms underlying lifestyle-related diseases. My research focuses on understanding how we can mitigate these risks through exercise and non-pharmaceutical interventions, particularly in populations with chronic conditions. At the core of my research lies an exploration of neural cardiovascular control in health and disease. I am passionate about the philosophy that exercise is medicine. However, prescribing exercise safely and effectively requires a robust understanding of both the acute and chronic physiological responses to exercise, as well as the underlying mechanisms that drive these responses across diverse populations. My work is multidisciplinary, bridging exercise physiology, cardiovascular science, nutrition, and public health. By investigating how interventions such as exercise, diet, and other adjunct therapies can optimize cardiovascular health, I aim to develop innovative approaches to improving quality of life and reducing the burden of lifestyle-related diseases.I am always open to collaborations and discussions about research, teaching, and applied projects that align with my expertise and interests.
