My position as Managment Supporter in Damco Germany, located in our CSO Hamburg, contained many tasks in different areas. Following responsibilities were to be covered by me:- Direct management of our finance department which consist managment of 8 FTE- Analysing and structuring of the plan for addressing backlog in operation and finance departments- Categorizing issues- Analysing customer processes from end to end to optimize- Ensuring new processes and adoption and compliance- Establish of customer specific IOPs- Clearing backlog itself- Top mangement support in the CSO Hamburg- Implentation of rates system

Damco Nordic Area

My position as Business Supporter in Damco Nordic was primarily to take ownership in following areas:- Administrative tasks for COO/CEO and Nordic management team- Ad hoc projects - mostly implementations customers and systems wise- Analysing productivity reports- Supporting HRIn my position as Business Supporter in Damco Nordic I have accomplished to solve all given administrative tasks for COO/CEO and NDC management. My position around administrative tasks consisted in having overview on events planning and to create valuable MoM when needed from management site. My position also held a support function in analysing our Nordic productivity reports with the aim to serve a good platform for discussion across CSO managers primarily on benchmark areas in productivity, products and trends. Furthermore I have been working closely with HR department in trying to establish visibility on key areas such as monitoring the dialogue between HR and our two CSO managers on special tasks. Ad hoc projects as been the biggest part of my daily work. Successfully accomplished ad hoc projects can be mentioned as; creation of a monthly newsletter, time logging project, supporting European leadership workshop, finalizing tenders, quote system implementation and customer implementation. The biggest challenge and learning was to implement the contract of our customer, Government and Defence. It was a very exciting project where I got the chance to administrate the entire project plan. In the whole implementation period I really learned to deal with stakeholders at all levels and how to navigate across organisations. In the end of October I was asked to support Damco Germany for 6 month which I accepted with no hesitations. The diversity in my job as Business Supporter has forced me to be adaptable to new tasks and to learn how to work around many different people. The ability to get most out of people around me was one of the reasons for saying yes to support Damco Germany.

Damco Denmark A/S

I have finished my trainee period in Damco Denmark by experiencing both the import and export department. During my export traineeship I was responsible together with a very skilled colleague for our SCM export customer, Novozymes. During the work with Novozymes I saw the advantages a customer receives when being big enough to choose a Supply Chain Solution. I also really learned to work with many different tasks at once which made me able to create structure around my daily work. After a year in the SCM department I was moved to our Import department to get the feeling of how import works as well as how to handle smaller customers. The starting period was challenging due to heavy workload, lack of people and my personal lack of knowledge of the import process but despite that I managed to get a good sense of the import business and learned a lot around different customers and which individual needs the customers require. Overall it was a good and learning traineeship which gave me valauble background knowledge of the shipping and logistic industry. Just before my trainee period ended I was asked to take up the role as Business Supporter in Damco Nordic which I gladly accepted.
