Ann has been a licensed marriage and family therapist for over 25 years, the bulk of that time having served individuals, families and couples in private practice. Her interest in the field of psychology and human services began in the 1970's, when she volunteered on several hotlines, in women's shelters, worked paraprofessionally as a counselor for women't reproductive health, in drug abuse clinics, shelters, and as a Group Counselor for five years at the San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall. During that time she completed her BS and MS degree, and found employment at non profit agencies such as Youth Service Center and Family Services, providing both Clinical Counseling and administrative oversight. She became a Coordinator of the Outreach program at Youth Service Center and worked for a year at a residential facility. Her clinical work includes years of Group Counseling for Parents United Program, an incest treatment program, over ten years conducting groups for adults molested as children, specialties in eating disorders, ADHD, adolescent therapy, family intervention, and adult therapy for a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, anger management and couple therapy. Over the past ten years, Ann has focused her practice to work with couples, married and unmarried, treating conflict resolution, reactivity, withdrawal, affairs, sexual problems, and disillusionment in relationships. She has also provided premarital counseling and blended family therapy. For the past two years, she has been training with the Couples Institute, in the developmental model of couples therapy, in which she has been able to acheive greater structure and success with even the most difficult couples. Her history as a supervisor, private practice therapist providing a broad range of specialties, and now with couples and adults, has helped her to bring an array of skills, competencies and compassion to her work.
