As a summer research student, I had the opportunity to learn a lot about research methodology and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group to take part in a research project titled, '"Exploring the Relationship of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Scores on Firm Performance: An Empirical Analysis.' The work was done under the mentorship of Dr. Ashita Allamraju, University of Toronto and Dr. Apurva Narayan, University of Waterloo.The work involves collecting data, conducting literature review, and statistical analysis, among others. This experience enhanced and continues to enhance my skills in econometric analysis, STATA, teamwork and presentation. It has helped deepen my knowledge on sustainability reporting practices as well as statistical and econometric analysis. It has also helped me understand financial reporting of companies and the impact of sustainability reporting and sustainable practices on financial performance of companies.
