Co Founder of Randr, Inc. We are a developer of software aimed at Small and Medium busineses (SMB) where management time is at a premium and there are no staff employees. So the software has to be intuitive and easy to use and must leverage the end users. Our software is designed as a clear alternative to Enterprise software and Quickbooks.Our goal is to have the finest software available for the SMB market. All available at no cost and all running on small ubuntu servers using apache, tomcat and postgreSql. We believe this will help to make SMB companies competitive in the global economy with very low overhead.Our software is called Second Derivative and has 2 keys suites of products: Web Business Suite and eBusiness Suite. Most applications are on sourceforge.net. Eventually all will be.The Web Business Suite is designed for multi channel marketing and customer acquistion over the Web. It includes 5 of Randr's applications (Order Portal, Sales Portal, Data Migration Portal and Information Portals for OP and SP) plus an open source Forum (we use jForum).The eBusiness Suites are full backend ERP systems with transaction processing, financial processing and Information portal for reporting. We have the following eBusiness Suites: Rental Portal, Failure Data Portal, Financial Portal, Order Entry Portal and Work Order Management Portal. In additional we have a Warehouse Management Portal. Randr provides installation and support services, as well as hosting for companies who do not want to maintain their own servers.Randr has been working with small and medium businesses, primarily distribution, manufacturing and equipment rental for the past 25 years and began developing our own applications 10 years ago. We moved to Java, Linux and are very happy with the move.
