Oversee the operations of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce with 1,300 active business member representatives. The organization is a division of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce Corporation 501 (c) (6) that also includes the Shawnee Economic Development Council and Visit Shawnee. The Chamber is a nonprofit membership-driven organization that works with area businesses, civic organizations, education institutions and the City of Shawnee to make our community the best place to do business whether you are a visitor, a company or resident. Together, the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and the City of Shawnee partner to form the Shawnee Economic Development Council (SEDC) for economic development, job creation, business expansion and real estate development in Shawnee. The SEDC is the lead to market Shawnee for new and expanding businesses and general promotion of the community. It works to broaden the tax base and create diverse, quality employment opportunities for Shawnee residents. The SEDC recruits and retains commercial, residential and in-fill development, and has dozens of private-sector members across a variety of industries that partner to grow Shawnee.The Shawnee Chamber ranks #7 in the Kansas City area in total members with an aggressive plan to grow membership to support business development of the community. The Chamber is the voice of the Shawnee business community and drives economic prosperity.

Responsible for business development and recruitment for the City of Independence. Administered local incentive packages for large development projects as well as assistance to small business owners.
