When working in the NHS I derived a great deal of job satisfaction and professional success from bridging the technology gap between Technical ICT Staff and Clinical Staff, both front line and management. Being able to translate the technical side of a project into a language that clinicians could relate to made projects easier to manager and gave the clinical staff a degree of ownership in the work being delivered on their behalf. Conscientious and focused on the organisation’s principle aims and objectives, I am able to take on challenging projects and achieve the desired results though individual effort and team motivation.I am able to devise procedures and systems of work to ensure quality is maintained in all areas.I am practical, adaptable and analytical in both my approach to work and my solutions to problems. I have the ability to work accurately whilst under pressure and react positively to change. I am a sensitive communicator, able to listen as well as speak effectively. I manage to maintain a positive attitude and a sense of humour in most situations.One of my specialities is bridging the communications gap between ICT technicians and clinical staff. Providing jargon free explanations to develop and enhance their understanding of the technology aspects of projects.During my 11 years in an NHS ICT Service I have gained an in-depth knowledge of Clinical Systems and the underpinning processes such as CPA, Models of Care and Risk management. I have worked with national reporting standards Mental Health Minimum data set and National Drug Treatment Monitoring Service report. This has enabled me to advise on developments and systems improvements. My experience of training clinical staff to use a variety ICT systems has provided me with an understand of the varying levels of buy-in to using technology in a healthcare environment. This has helped me to take a sensitive approach to the implementation of change.
