Ann Teaff served as Head of School at The Harpeth Hall School, a college preparatory school for 685 girls and young women in grades 5-12, from 1998 to 2014. Ms. Teaff was instrumental in transforming The Harpeth Hall School into one of the premiere independent schools in the country. Today, Harpeth Hall is a school measured by its academically strong and multi-talented student body, its exceptional faculty, its state-of-the-art facilities, its cutting-edge technology woven through the innovative curriculum, and its tradition of excellence in academics, arts, and athletics. Harpeth Hall is a leader in advancing learning through technology. Harpeth Hall became the first school in Tennessee to implement a wireless network. The School introduced laptops in 2000, achieving its goal of equal access to this learning tool and empowering its students to become more active learners. In 2009, Harpeth Hall founded the Online School for Girls, the first-ever online school dedicated to secondary education for girls, with three of the country's top independent girls' schools. In 2010, Harpeth Hall received a $250,000 Edward E. Ford Leadership Grant to establish The Center for STEM Education for Girls at Harpeth Hall, designed to increase girls' participation in STEM studies and STEM careers.Previously, Ms. Teaff served as Head of Upper School at Garrison Forest School in Maryland. She also taught and chaired the history department from 1980-1988. While at Garrison Forest, Ms. Teaff was a Klingenstein Fellow at Columbia University, a program designed to enhance the educational leadership of fellows. Prior to her appointment at Garrison Forest, Ms. Teaff taught history at the University School of Nashville. Ann Teaff is a graduate of Fontbonne College with a BA in History and holds an MAT from Vanderbilt University and a MS in Educational Administration from Columbia University.
