Support for the research project «Sheltering (with) Care: Politics of Protecting, Constructing, and Maintaining Emergency Shelters for People Affected by Natural Disasters», which aims to explore the politics of preparedness and responses to natural disasters in Central Asian cities.The main responsibilities include:• Assisting with data collection, preparation, and analysis;• Conducting literature searches, preparation, and analysis;• Assisting in the identification and selection of case studies;• Supporting organizational activities.

The internship included work on a research project as part of the third semester of the master's program. The research was partially independent, with collaboration from an academic supervisor at Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany and UrbinLab in Lisbon, Portugal. During the initial phase held in Weimar, the research topic, location, and proposed methodology were defined. The main phase involved independent research. The project's research question is: 'How does the process of touristification impact local residents' perception of public spaces in Principe Real (Lisbon)?' Primary research methods include structured observations, semi-structured interviews, and surveys. The project aimed to develop research skills and represents the first experience in conducting independent research.
