Trading Financial dry bulk futures and options.Involved in the initial set up of the Great Bay Maritime Advisors and running all the daily operations. As a part of this process and on ongoing basis I have been involved in: Legal set up with lawyers, initial set up of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) cover for a non-FCA regulated entity operating in UK.Defining Trading, Risk and Operational Risk guidelines documentation/policies in compliance with an FCA covering host. Working closely with clearing houses (NASDAC, London Clearing House, SGX) and FCA covering clearing partner. Negotiating contracts with broking houses. Outlining Back office operational process relevant to FFA market.Defined all the structure/designs, specifications/feeds and formulas/calculations for all trading systems and reporting requirements. These included: MtM and Realized PnL, Trading limits reports, Concentration limits, Fair value reporting, Position reporting, Margin and collateral reports, Deal booking, curve uploading, etc. Testing all trading systems and reports through all of the stages of the user acceptance test and ongoing monitoring on a daily basis.Gathering, organizing and cleaning of historical data. Defining daily process for innovative price scraping. Defining trading strategies and trading futures and Asian options in the dry bulk market.Constantly liaising with brokers and market participants in order to grow and expand the current business framework.Constantly liaising with Back Office, IT, Quant and CEO and CFO in order to manage ongoing projects and ensure smooth operational and financial growth of the business.

Setting up and managing dry freight market (FFA) Options desk. Proprietary trading FFA futures. Buying and selling contracts on thermal coal in the European, South African and Australian markets.Buying, selling and managing complex structured contracts. Managing complex cross commodity deals. Detailed involvement in Risk modelling and reporting for complex products, including all stages of the migration of the Global risk reporting and trading system.Initiation of ideas for deals that are potentially profitable. Involvement in drafting contracts, by making sure that the commercial representation is correct. Modelling and valuation of proposed deals and organization of the correct management of those deals on the internal systems. Execution of deals on daily basis through negotiation and relationship building with brokers, making sure that the correct prices are achieved.

I conducted work for the Oil, Power, Gas and Coal desks. In particular I undertook and was responsible for the following projects: Cross-Location and Cross-Time single and multi-commodities spread options valuation and management. Peak UK power and daily gas demand forecasting. Oil and gas storage valuation and management. Weather derivative pricing. Gas shortfall modelling. Development of an algorithmic trading tool using statistical arbitrage.
