Motivated professional with a native knowledge of Russian language, Bachelor’s earned in the U.S., and a superb ability to bridge the divide between foreign mentalities, while utilizing exceptional verbal and written communication skills. I know this sounded very serious. However, things get much funner, when I teach Russian! Guaranteed. Some more serious stuff: I am officially cleared to interpret for the government sector - Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and USCIS (that's immigration). Possess strong working ethics as demonstrated throughout performing duties as an Interpreter/Translator (for 20+ years), Art Teacher, Research Assistant, Tutor, and a Coordinator. This means you can trust me with your information and rest assured that I shall sustain confidentiality. Proven record of establishing rapport with members of diverse groups, while navigating cultural challenges and ensuring excellent interaction among all parties. Usually, if I sense tension among parties, I contribute my "smooth operator" skills and a soothing voice, as a result of which people tend to calm down and successfully accomplish their goals on a professional level. Some more serious stuff: I often interpret (and monitor) during asylum interviews, 911 emergencies (ER and police reports), inmate intake, Social Security Administration interviews, insurance policy claims, hunger strikes and deportation procedures, as well as psychological & psychiatric sessions (suicide assessment), just to name a few. I know, that can get heavy. However, my students and I do have a lot of fun, when we conquer all the legendary challenges of Russian language grammar and notorious letter "Ы" pronunciation. Just try pronouncing ВЫКЛЮЧАТЕЛЬ and you will fall in love with Russian.
