When I became an adult and quickly realized that I was not going to be the next Stevie Nicks or next Casey Novak, I decided to direct my passion and energy toward the main constant in my life: writing. I was fortunate to begin my professional writing journey by blogging for the Experience Blog for the College of Liberal Arts at Colorado State University while in my final two semesters. I completely fell in love with the process of researching and tracking trends and happenings in student life, brainstorming ways I could integrate my own interests of metaphysical wellness, social justice, and popular culture, and the rush of getting the go-ahead from my editor to publish my writing. This position enabled me to become familiar with WordPress, as this was the platform in which all submissions were drafted, edited, and submitted, as well as components of SEO. I was fortunate enough to tailor much of my undergraduate career in Communications to media and popular culture, and it was through this, various freelance blog submissions, and my personal accounts that I became familiar with social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Pinterest, and the accompanying analytics, including hashtags, account formatting and aesthetics, drafting compelling captions, best time of day to post, etc. Unfortunately, I just wasn't compatible with the harsh Colorado winters, so I moved west and now reside in sunny Los Angeles, California. I feel so energized and inspired to continue my passion for writing in such a beautiful and enigmatic city with a consistent flow of ideas and innovation (not to mention the sushi is TO DIE). I would love the opportunity to lend my passion and my voice to a position in a collaborative and creative environment; one that values fast-paced but quality research, honest and engaging content, an adaptable yet personalized voice, and that doesn't mind someone who is a bit of a grammar nerd.
