I worked in the operations department where my team and I were responsible for the planning and execution of all reactivity changes in a controlled and conservative manner. I developed reactivity maneuvers, which involved running predictors, creating ReMA documents to guide maneuvers, and managing control rod sequencing. I provided recommendations and oversight to operators during reactor startups, shutdowns, sequence exchanges, and maintenance downpowers.Within 18 months, I attained my QNE qualification and also qualified as a core thermal engineer within the emergency response organization. Additionally, I obtained move sheet and special nuclear material handler qualifications. As the unit 2 QNE, I tracked surveillances and required maintenance, addressed equipment issues, and monitored parameters to ensure operational expectations were met. I also managed the calibration, upkeep, and replacement of nuclear instrumentation on my unit.During my tenure, Dresden underwent a fuel and core monitoring transition. I became proficient in running predictors using both Powerplex and 3D Monicore, and served as the administrator for the 3D Monicore system. As the administrator, I performed the 3DM deck installation, conducted periodic checks on primary and backup systems, and troubleshot the system as needed.In this role, I worked within a tightly-knit, dynamic team where we excelled in teamwork and efficient delegation of responsibilities. We frequently encountered emergent scenarios that required swift responses. Adapting to unexpected changes in strategies and timelines honed my skill for crafting creative and efficient solutions to unique challenges. Moreover, I significantly enhanced my communication skills, effectively engaging with various departments across different seniority levels.

Used PANACEA (3D core simulator) to design fuel assemblies and loading patterns for boiling water reactors. Experimented with varying enrichment and bundle residence time while maintaining flow, exposure, and thermal limits within acceptable operating band.
