As a Community assistant I was responsible for 40 residents on my hall. I made sure they followed the housing contract, was there to mediate roommate conflicts, and facilitate community programs. I had to make themed bulletin boards, host campus activities and conduct serenity and health checks. Working at Camp Twin Lakes is a life-changing experience. Camp Twin Lakes is a camp for kids with chronic diseases, illnesses and other life challenges. I was on the horseback staff here, so I was given the chance to teach others how to feed, ride and walk horses. It doesn't sound like much but when these kids ride a horse for the first time with only one leg or right after life-altering surgery it is amazing to see.
