I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). In this field, we utilize scientific-based interventions to increase independence as well as work toward the child living in the least restrictive environment. It is my goal as behavior analyst to make sure we setting children up for success by working on socially valid goals that help them achieve independence. We can do this through compassion-based, play-based skill building. In my current role, I utilize functional behavior assessments to create behavior intervention plans for the school setting that consist of socially appropriate behavioral goals for students, including goals to replace behaviors such as functional communication, co and self regulation, social skills and more. I also help to provide trainings to teachers and other related staff on behavior intervention plans for individual students as well as class management strategies.
