http://www.clst.riken.jp/en/science/labs/bdi/ipi/cfi/Currently working on glioblastoma and breast cancer mice model.Our projects focus on visualisation of cancer cells in life animals in real time. Cancer progression, its structure, the effect of anticancer drug and even the cell cycle can by showed using combined techniques of luminescence and fluorescence ( endoscopy ). Glioblastoma is a very difficult cancer because of both location and a difficulty in penetration of BBB by therapeutic agents therefore it is important to create an easy technique to visualise the effect of new drugs.The second model we are currently working on is breast cancer. We selected 3 cell lines with different Her-2 expression levels, that we hope will help to establish a good system to visualise cancer cell location via endoscopic microscope. We aim to use this system in patients to aide operation procedures. Imaging techniques incl IVIS (luminescence), Confocal and Fluorescence microscopy, optical fiber microscopy (endoscopic cancer observation in live mouse), cryosectioning, viral vectors, cell line cultivation, FACS, RNA/DNA work. Data analysis, keeping research logs, monitoring results as well as managing lab resources.

Worked on creating and optimising a new animal model - Zebra Finch bird, ( also creating husbandry manual for efficient egg production) for developmental biology, including characterisation with stem cell markers.
