Serves as a lead functional expert/consultant for Classification and Compensation in Human Resources for Support Staff employees; responsible for reviewing and monitoring support staff compensation matters, providing guidance on pay decisions related to equity, market, merit reasons and providing and enforcing federal and state compensation compliance requirements; administers support staff university pay changes, additional pay (lump sum payments), and annual/contractual compensation programs; reviews and enforces current MSU compensation policies and contractual requirements; makes recommendation on revisions to compensation policies; independently researches and enforces compensation compliance both with federal and state laws and regulation and determines necessary process and policy changes to support compliance; oversees the university compensation raise programs by drafting and distributing university-wide communication, coordinating with the Office of Financial Planning and Budget on the raise administration tool, assisting departments with the use of the raise tools and answer questions; reviews scenarios and makes recommendation on FAS raise decisions in conjunction with Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs; runs all system raise programs and processes; and serves as a lead functional expert and provides recommendations and guidance between HR and units regarding the universities classification system, organizational development analysis of compensation, and any other related HR information.
