MTD Foodservice is a consulting firm that specialises in the design of foodservice facilities within hotels, convention centres, restaurants, etc. and the development of catering operating systems throughout Asia Pacific.My role includes the following:• Schematic Designo Liaise with stakeholders to develop concept briefs, drawings, estimated fit-out costs and planning.• Design Developmento Update design layout, coordinate service requirements with mechanical engineers, mark up Technical Services requirements and resolve Architectural & Design and Constructions issues.o Provide detailed opinions of probable cost for a Food & Beverage area and provide value management when required.• Tender Documentationo Finalise drawings, prepare material, quality and performance specifications of all fixtures and equipment to be supplied. Issue documents for competitive tender process.• Tender Review & Constructiono Respond to bidders’ queries during the tender process, then provide technical and cost analysis. Report on tenders and make recommendations on the most suitable contractors. Follow the installation during construction coordinate and resolve construction issues as they occur.Finishing with Defect Checks and reporting back to the stakeholders to ensure the construction is built as designed and ensure it matches specification.• Market Research.o Visit Hospitality Trade Shows (both internationally and locally) and maintaining relationships with suppliers to understand and keep abreast of new trends in our industry. • Office Management.o Part of ensuring our office stays up-to-date on equipment and the latest trends, is to maintain a high and accurate level of standards and templates within our CAD programs. I can use Sketch-up, AutoCAD and Revit, this allows us to work closely with Architects and builders within their chosen medium.
