August 2003 to PresentI've taken care of adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities for the past seventeen years. I'm trained with those requiring complete care, as well as independent adults with disabilities. I've been a direct support staff, a personal assistant, an instructor in a day program or workshop, as well as now being a home manager. I have worked with verbal and non verbal patients, patients requiring lifting, those with behavior support plans, and patients who needed job coaching. Most of my time the past eight to ten years have been with high behavior or high risk individuals. I'm a trainer on all therapy plans (OT, PT, SLP, BSP, RD, etc). I'm able to administer medication in Tennessee per guidelines for Medication Administration by Unlicensed Personnel, have kept that certification for all my years in this field. I am PCM (Primary Crisis Management) certified, again have kept up my certification. I have had Mealtime and Seizure classes I am Adult and Child CPR/First Aid certified, renewed in May 2019 My job duties at this time consist of caring for DIDDS adults, financial management of one of the homes, including the individuals personal finances, purchases, inventory, and expenditures. I supervise the day to day management of the home and direct support staff who are placed here. I'm responsible for all staff training within the home, and oversight of staff duties and all documentation. Coordinating activities per state guidelines, keeping medical appointments, reviewing medications in the home for each individual. Proper storage, documentation, disposal of medical items in the home, working with nurses and supervisors to handle any issues or crises. Reporting issues in a timely manner, and also I'm responsible for maintaining a professional, yet caring and supportive environment for those we serve.
