Proofread, edit and research articles and reports for internet publication. Most work is written in American English. Since 2018, also translate into Swedish and proofread Swedish translations, using Memsource and bilingual word files.

Private tutor of English as a Second Language (ESOL) and Swedish. Teach from beginner level (A1) to advanced (C2) in both languages. Most students are adults.

In recent years, focus was on successfully preparing adult learners for Edexcel ESOL examinations. Over time, classes have ranged from complete beginners to advanced level – both exam-focused and general English classes. Although I no longer teach my own classes at the college, I regularly help out with conducting placement tests and acting as interlocutor.

Long Sutton, Hampshire

This is a summer school for international students, many of whom are going on to do A-levels at English private schools. Teaching was to advanced students aged 15-17, improving their general English and helping to prepare them for English schools. Taught for four weeks each year between 2016 and 2019. Also conducted tutorial interviews with students.

Basingstoke

Designed, tested and implemented numerous system changes. Last role was as lead analyst for the successful conversion of a large system onto a mainframe. In charge of two programmers on this project. A second major project entailed testing software to ensure it was Year 2000 compliant. Prior to this position I worked for two other companies as an Analyst.
