I plan to graduate from Capital University in May of 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Intervention for Mild to Moderate needs. Through Capital University I have had the opportunity to have an abundance of field experiences in many different classrooms and schools. I have experiences tutoring with the Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services two students in the third grade; Franklin County Juvenile Intervention Center with one student in fifth grade math; Capital University Reading Center with one student and we worked on her fluency and comprehension skills; lastly, Kae Avenue with one student and I worked on expanding her knowledge of phonics and applying it when she reads. I have had different field experiences with full classrooms at Columbus Collegiate Academy Dana Avenue in a sixth grade math intervention classroom; Winchester Trails with preschool students; Beechwood Elementary in both a fourth and fifth grade resource room along with a fifth grade science and language arts; Westerville North with an Intervention Class; Mark Twain Elementary in a first grade classroom. Through these experiences I have gained knowledge on how to create effective lesson plans for both individual students as well as whole classes, creating Intervention Education Programs, creating Behavior Intervention Plans, implementing and creating Positive Behavior Intervention and Support, differentiating lessons to fit each student and implementing effective classroom management strategies.
