From 2017-2018 I was a postdoc (and the PI) at Aarhus University working on the Carlsberg-funded project "Belfast Voices – intonational innovation in post-referendum Northern Ireland".

My work focussed on the sociophonetics of the variety of Aboriginal English spoken in Sydney, Australia. More specifically, I looked at the use of prosodic features such as pitch movement, speech rhythm, and voice quality in the Aboriginal English spoken on Sydney radio shows. As part of this project, I also carried out an online speech perception survey investigating the identifiability of Sydney Aboriginal English.
