I carry professional lecturer statuse as a field faculty member of Virginia Tech. The main goal of my position is to run the county 4-H program which offers youth development opportunities through experiencial learning. Participants of the 4-H program develop leadership, citizenship, and life skills. Community clubs, specific project area clubs, in and after school programs, and a variety of day and residential camps are offered to youth ages 5-19. As the county 4-H agent, I am to provide programmatic support, supervision, and training/development opportunities for the adult volunteers involved with the county program.

Pretty self explanitory, I was responsible for a hall of resident students, planning programs, and ensuring that there was emergency and non-emergency support for those students. I also helped with various other Res. Life office tasks, including Orientation week and closing down the residence halls for breaks.

I helped prepare, cook, and serve a variety of food items in a small campus cafe. I was also responsible for cleaning and preperation of food, and running the cash register.

I was in charge of feeding 40 horses, cleaning 17+ stalls, and various other horse farm tasks. During the summer I served as a camp counselor. In this role I was responsible for teaching a 1 hour class on barn safety, 1 hour class in arts and crafts, and occasionally helping the riding instructor teach a 1 hour riding class. I helped to prepare lunch and to plan and lead games for the campers who were ages 8-13. The camp generally had 10 or fewer campers per week.
