Adjudicated passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications and was a federal notary.Received the William R. Rivkin Award for Constructive Dissent, the only award of its kind within the federal government.Successfully lobbied the Department to include convictions under certain California criminal statutes as permanent visa ineligibilities. Worked with the Department and interagency to revoke more than 1,000 non-immigrant visas for visa holders who violated U.S. law.Drafted and received a $200,000 grant for a Tijuana university to partner with San Diego State University to map and track cross-border wastewater flows. Coordinated with both universities to implement the grant, which served as a model for projects in other border cities.Served as the acting political-economic section chief for two months. Assisted in an event co-hosted by the U.S. Navy, Mexican Navy, and Mexican Environmental Ministry to use trained dolphins to locate the vaquita, an endangered species in the Sea of Cortez.
