Following an idea I developed through the Active Citizens project, with funding from Somerset County Council's Active Living fund and support from ViSTA Somerset, Active and In Touch started as a pilot project in Autumn 2011. We aimed to use local volunteers to identify and visit people who had become isolated, supporting them in becoming involved in community activities, and helping us to be better neighbours.
