I am a Registered Play Therapist helping children impacted by trauma and their parents/carers. I work full-time for Bill Crews Foundation, which address the cause and effect of homelessness and poverty and has three specialised Play Therapy rooms in Sydney. I offer Play Therapy with children 1:1 or with their parents/ carers, and Group Play Therapy in schools. I am also embedded in an early childhood setting offering 1:1 Play Therapy and Group Play Therapy, working closely with Educators in adopting a trauma informed practice. I am passionate about the importance of early intervention and breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma, and so I deliver a Baby Bonding program for new parents/carers and their infants, including Infant Massage instruction. I regularly present on the benefits of Play Therapy and trauma informed practices.I was previously a Clinical Manager of a play therapy charity in Sydney and prior to that practiced Play Therapy in large, culturally diverse, nursery, primary and high schools in socially deprived parts of London. My interest in Play Therapy started when my family entered the wonderful world of adoption. After experiencing first-hand the chronic demands on the UK’s mental health services for children, I decided I could make a difference by retraining as a Play Therapist and I have never looked back.
