I joined Creel Maritime during the final term of my degree as a graduate, and quickly advanced to Logistics Manager, overseeing East Coast operations. Creel Maritime, based in the Scottish Highlands, is a progressive supply chain management company serving the entire UK.In my role, I managed the end-to-end logistics of Roundwood timber, ensuring seamless coordination from forest to port. My responsibilities included monitoring stock levels, arranging timber transport, booking berths, and liaising with ports to optimise laydown areas and weighbridge volumes. I often chartered vessels, drafted charter party agreements, and acted as the agent upon vessel arrival, ensuring clear communication among all stakeholders while overseeing port loading operations.I also supported the Managing Director in project management, primarily focusing on sustainable timber transport initiatives. My work involved issuing Invitations to Tender (ITT), managing the returns process, and contributing to complex environmental projects, such as an intricate barging operation that minimised environmental impact.Beyond logistics, I contributed to the Scottish and Irish Timber Transport Forums by drafting written procedures and creating published guidebooks on sustainable timber transport options. On the West Coast, I collaborated closely with a team of operators to transport timber by sea from remote locations inaccessible by road, all while ensuring minimal disruption to the landscape. I completed STTS grant applications and a marine licence. Throughout my tenure, I built and maintained strong relationships with CEOs, vessel owners, ports, timber harvesters, and operators, fostering long-lasting partnerships. My experience at Creel Maritime enhanced my skills in logistics management, sustainable transport, stakeholder communication, and project coordination. As the first employee of Creel, I helped to grow the business and contributed towards its successes.

I carried out this role to compliment my studies while at university. The co-op encouraged me to connect and support the local community through fundraising for various groups and charities. This job allowed me to practice independent thinking and using my initiative to meet customers needs and the keep shop looking it’s best.

In this role, I worked across two premises to provide excellent customer service while in secondary education. I worked both independently and as part of a serving team to ensure customers left happy, and the 5-star nature of the business was upheld during their visit.

I joined this business at its inception and helped create a standard for the service and deserts for the future. I aided in the training of staff, preparing food and cleaning. I worked part time while in secondary education full time.

At Frogurtz I often had to work independently to serve customers, cash up and open/close the business. I had to balance my full time secondary education with this role. Working without a manager or supervision required responsibility and integrity, which I worked with until the business closed down.

I began working for this company every day after school to fundraise for a charity expedition. I was given the responsibility of filing, doing the mail and the banking. I was flexible within the role to meet the needs of the lawyers that I worked with and was a general help around the office.
