Tesco Mobile as a customer service assistant/sales advisor. Daily duties include signing off safe and legal documents, working with insurance policies, carrying out phone contracts and ensuring legal documents are understood by customers, working towards sales targets set out by store, logging sales into sales tracker on Excel, selling phones and health checking customers to ensure I fully understand what their wants and needs are.

I have been lucky given the current climate to secure a job in an environment where I have been pushed to grow and express myself all whilst learning so many new skills. While seamstress duties are the main focus of this role I have also contributed to the design process and created social media content boost online engagement. I have shown myself to be reliable, creative and fashion forward. I have had to complete tasks to a high standard and also be open to constructive criticism as my background isn't in garment construction. I have had to be confident in expressing guidance where my experience lacks along with using my own initiative to get to a resolution. My main roles and responsibilities are processing orders from online to completion, cutting fabric and sewing to an agreed upon standard, post office trips, design input, creating social media content, customer engagement and photoshoot styling and sourcing fabrics.

Working for Britain’s third most popular up and coming fashion company, Oh Polly, I got an incredible insight into the fashion industry as a part time office assistant whilst still at university. I would carry out general reception duties like, scheduling meetings, assisting photoshoots, shipping products to other offices and keeping the office area tidy and organised. This experience gave me an exposure to an extremely fast paced and rapidly growing online fashion company.

I worked for Tesco for 3 years as a customer sales advisor and in the F&F clothing department, checkouts, fresh department and in general merchandising. Tesco has made me aware of what great company values are and has set the bar high for customer service standards as an employee, In this job role i had to always be aware of what targets the company had to meet and complete. Tesco also offered detailed training in health and safety, licensing laws and customer behaviour.

I designed an interior based collection using the software for the new Merlin Pro machine two years in a row. I was the first student in GSA to use the new technology for a project, so it was a massive risk with huge learning experiences that I can still lean on today and in the future. During this time I had to learn to work at a commercial pace work environment. This paid off as I was awarded a cloth workers company award in 2020.

Worked as a server in one of Glasgow’s busiest brunch places. pristine presentation was at the core of working at Single-End as it is a creative environment. Staff also had to mirror that overall aesthetic and provide exceptional customer service and communication skills. We would also host events such as weddings, parties and theme nights which involved selling alcohol (alcohol training complete).

Conducted an after school art class whilst a student at Stranraer Academy under supervision from my secondary school art teacher.
