Working within the broader Group Workplace Safety team, my portfolio was primarily focused on the mental health of Virgin Australia team members and that of the wider group of airlines (i.e, Tigerair and VARA). My role involved both the strategic development and implementation of group-wide mental health initiatives and programs and the provision of support to leaders managing mental health risks within their teams. Additionally, I continued to be involved in driving the Virgin Australia Group's health and wellbeing platform, Better Me. This aspect of my role allowed me to engage with a diverse range of external stakeholders and subject-matter experts to deliver a comprehensive, engaging and positive program with a focus on helping our people live their happiest and healthiest lives.

Responsible for the daily management of Virgin Australia's Fatigue Risk Management System. Virgin Australia was the first commercial airline in Australia to establish an FRMS and remains a global leader in the field. As an FRMS Program Advisor my role included: - Bio-mathematical modelling of pairings, pre-flown rosters and post-flown rosters using the SAFTE-FAST modelling tool;- Analysis of fatigue reporting and removal data;- Participation in safety investigations where relevant;- Frequent communications to Flight and Cabin Crew, engineering, Network Operations and the broader business;- Development, maintenance and facilitation of the FRMS SMS training suite (both classroom delivery and computer-based training formats);- Maintenance of a monthly meeting cycle with all resource groups re: trending fatigue issues and concerns, recommendations for continuous improvement and cyclic reporting;- Bi-monthly attendance at the FRMS Governance Committee comprised of stakeholder executives and union representatives;- Monitoring and facilitation of FRMS post-duty provisions (taxi, accommodation);- Development, implementation and analysis of targeted fatigue surveys to inform bio-mathematical modelling and FRMS Governance Directives;- Provision of analysis and recommendations around proposed new routes or pairings;- Ongoing stakeholder engagement and collaboration with Cabin Crew Management, Flight Operations Management, Network Operations, unions, regulators and external contacts;- Representation and professional participation at industry forums.

Undertaking my 4+2 Internship Program as a Provisional Psychologist, I gained a wealth of experience working with diverse clients across in both clinical and organisational psychology contexts. I was involved in the provision of short, solution-focused therapy to EAP clients, as well as drug and alcohol, cognitive and medico-legal assessments. Throughout 2014 and 2015 I was deployed as an onsite EAP consultant to the Nauru Regional Processing Centre working with a number of stakeholders to deliver individual support, management coaching, training and critical incident debriefs. Regarding organisational psychology, I was involved in organisational health reviews and 360 leadership assessments. I co-facilitated team and management workshops and development programs and assisted in the rollout of an employee 'pulse check' tool to assist organisations in monitoring and optimising the wellbeing of their workforce.
