As the Assistant Operations Manager, I aided in operations and marketing for the non-profit in hopes of growing the organization, spreading our knowledge of the plastic issue, and opening up further opportunities for businesses to recycle their plastic.

For this month long certification program, I lived, worked, and learned on an organic garden and farm. It was both hands-on in the garden and farm with organic growing vegetables and fruit, as well as cooking our harvested produce in the kitchen. We experienced ecological farm training through classroom sessions discussing native plant species, drip irrigation, maintaining balanced farm ecosystems, and more. I had the chance to help raise, feed, and take care of their chickens and goats and build up a stronger understanding of composting, soil health management, and soil fertility. We learned a great deal about cover crops and preparing new beds through firsthand experience, along with direct seeding,transplanting, and grafting.
