- Floodplain analysis of Poplar Lane located in Lorton, VA - Used HEC-RAS for flood analysis on a stream leading to Occoquan River. Managed to get 2-year, 10- year, 100-year flood levels on 5 cross sections - Used VDOT standards for ditch design along Poplar Lane - Erosion and sediment controls, including rip-rap, was designed based off of VDOT and Prince William County standards - Hydraulic analysis was completed for 60" storm water drain leading to Occoquan River - Technical report was completed for 30%, 60%, and 90% design

June Assessment Trip 2019: - Collected elevation and flow data- Implemented intake and flow meter to collect data - Started design alongside the Municipality of San Pablo - Completed and presented design to companies in the United States January Construction Trip 2020: - Traveled to Ecuador to construct concrete pad, retention pond, and distribution system for 10 houses

- The purpose of developing this structure is to create potable water and to eventually implement it into a third world country scenario. - Research was done on biofilm layer and backwashing to accurately design components that would further the progress of the project by helping the water become potable. - During experimentation water from a nearby stream was sent through the filter device. Activated carbon layer was used to catch organic particles as well as bacteria. Used bacteria and turbidity testing kits to get proper data from conducting the experiment. - Expected results are that total bacteria and suspended solids will be reduced in end trials due to biofilm and crushed glass preventing them from passing through the filter; crushed glass should have a better result both in turbidity and bacteria levels. This assumption is based on previous testing of turbidity levels. The team that was a part of this project was invited to present the results and research at WaterJAM.
