In this internship, I work directly with the oral surgeon, Dr. Park, and the full time anesthesiologist, Dr. Umar. I assist by completing charts during surgical procedures, preparing medications/instruments, preparing patients for surgery, aiding with sterilization procedures, supporting airway during surgery, and passing instruments during procedures. Furthermore, I have learned about various dental ailments, procedures, and how important dental care is to the overall well-being of individuals.

In the Tarran lab, I assist the lab members with everyday tasks and learn about lab procedures along the way. I have gained experience with running assays and using imaging technology (the Cytation 5) to collect and interpret data.
