Profile bio

About Anna Collins

I have worked extensively in the field of physiotherapy since I qualified in 1992. I worked initially doing rotational posts gaining experience in a wide range of clinical areas and securing my passion for orthopaedics. I worked at senior I level and clinical team lead at the Elective Orthopaedic Centre in the UK; This role was in a brand-new pilot project that strove to provide the best and most evidence-based orthopaedic care to patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery. It was driven by current research and I was involved in clinical caseload of complex patients as well as training staff, audit and research. Prior to the opening of the centre I was involved in compiling all the client material and led the team when this was all revised. Since moving to Australia I have worked in the public and private sectors covering orthopaedics, rehabilitation and medical / surgical / neurological caseloads. I moved to Community Physiotherapy services in 2012 and have since worked there providing group exercise classes in the community in the area of falls, elderly, orthopaedics and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation phase 2 and 3. In March 2015 I took on the role of program manager assisting with the development of the falls, orthopaedic and functional rehabilitation programmes into one general rehabilitation program. In June 2015 I became acting manager for CPS and this role has taught me many new skills especially in the area of leadership. It has been a steep learning curve to which I have adapted well, according to my manager, and I handle difficult situations and challenges with an increasing array of tools. I have received very positive feedback from all team members and have led NMHS CPS in developing quality services to those in the community, in line with ABF/ABM. I have an inquiring mind and am quick to learn. I am open and fair to all and being aware of the wider picture has assisted me in making wise decisions that may have results well into the future.

Listed skills include Customer Service, Leadership Development, Leadership, Coaching, and 5 others.
