I worked as the sole law clerk for Thornton Law Firm LLP for the Summer of 2023. Through this position I bettered my skills in conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, analyzing case law and formulating arguments in preparation for litigation. I was able to gain experience working on a wide range of plaintiff-side cases, including those related to personal injury, health law, whistleblower law, environmental/toxic torts, False Claims Act cases, and government contracts. This position enabled me to gain valuable insight into the world of plaintiff-side litigation.

-Assisted in prevention efforts to combat spread of COVID-19 on University of Miami campus by enforcing mask-wearing and social distancing policies for students, faculty, and staff -Served as role model for other students and campus members to turn to for the most up-to-date COVID-19 information-Selected to serve as 1 of 25 Team Leads responsible for: -Facilitating communication between fellow ambassadors and campus administration -Holding other ambassadors accountable for on-shift duties by completing routine check-ins -Attending monthly meetings with supervisors and campus faculty to provide feedback and continually evaluate program efficacy -Planning and engaging ambassadors in virtual team building activities

I served as a positive role model and leader in an educational camp for over 75 underprivileged youth in all areas of camp activities, including punctuality, cleanliness, education, and respect. I was responsible for directing tutoring sessions, assisting with school work, and facilitating educational activities throughout the day, demonstrating leadership experience and a strong ability to multi-task. I was able to coordinate periodically with supervisors to assess students' needs by using excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Overall, I noticed significant improvement in educational outcomes throughout the duration of my time in this position.

As an undergraduate research assistant, I gained experience working with patients (age 6-17) and their families on a daily basis. My main duties included coordinating therapy sessions via phone and email, administering BIRD distress assessments to patients upon arrival, and collecting and organizing data related to the research project. My responsibilities also included clerical duties such as answering phone calls/emails, organizing and filing office materials, and administering phone screens. I also had the opportunity to sit in on weekly staff meetings to discuss patients' progress and proposed treatment plans. In my time here, I was able to gain valuable experience with statistics software programs such as SPSS and Qualtrics, as well as Microsoft Excel.

This lab explored and tested a possible new drug therapy for victims of ischemic stroke with the goal improving quality of life and overall health outcomes. As an undergraduate research assistant, I was responsible for collecting and analyzing data files to monitor blood pressure in rats following induction of intracerebral hemorrhage. I used Microsoft Excel and other graphing software to determine average blood pressure of the subject over an extended period of time. I also had the opportunity to supervise and assist surgeries performed on animal test subjects and understand how to safely handle them. This position taught me the importance of discipline and working within a deadline, as the work was extremely meticulous and time sensitive.
