Vegetation CoordinatorColorado River Headwaters Chapter Of Trout Unlimited Jan 2016 - Jul 2017Tabernash, CoI organized the vegetation component of the Fraser Flats River Habitat Project and oversaw implementation of the project from start to finish. I worked in partnership with the collaborative Learning by Doing group in Grand County, Colorado (Denver Water, Northern Water, Colorado River Conservation District, Middle Park Water Conservancy District, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Trout Unlimited) and community volunteers.• Produced a Vegetation Plan, which was approved with minor revisions by the Learning by Doing group.• Conducted and organized extensive marketing and outreach in the form of newspaper articles, public presentations, social media, and TV interviews, which resulted in 100 volunteers assisting with this community-supported stream restoration project. • Led six crew leaders and 100+ volunteers to harvest and plant thousands of willows and 90 Kremmling cottonwoods on a 1-mile stretch of the Fraser River over a 5-day period.• Used knowledge of GIS to create vegetation maps and to establish a photo point monitoring plan.• With the assistance of LightHawk, a conservation organization, I coordinated the first of 5 years of aerial imagery fly-overs of the restoration site.• Wrote and managed a grant to help fund the project. • Reported results to the Learning by Doing Committee and kept all interested parties informed.
