The Community College Initiative Program (CCI) is a U.S. Department of State sponsored program that provides fully funded academic year scholarships for international students to study at community colleges in the United States. Academics, volunteering, an unpaid internship, a community impact project, and cultural exchange are at the focus of the program to promote leadership development so participants can create change in their communities upon returning home.

Contractor for CET Academic Programs, which was contracted to run the Middlebury Interactive Language Summer Chinese Academy in 2017• Ensured the health and safety of 62 high school students with limited Chinese ability by conducting room checks, late-night hall patrol, and filing incident reports.• Led a group of 14 beginner-level students and a new Chinese teacher when taking public transportation and on field trips, ensuring that all students were safe and accounted for.• Created activities to facilitate Chinese language learning, such as “Ms. Du Says,” and led study halls. • Resolved communication issues between teacher and students due to language and culture differences.
