This secondment was extended and I spent a further three months within the department. Working within both Servicing and Sales, the job role involved assisting customers at different stages of their Santander journey, gauging their needs and responding accordingly. In Servicing I would confirm balances and transactions, make payments for customers, block and reissue cards, help customers to re-access their online accounts, assist in booking branch appointments, guide in change of signatory requests and other general queries relating to their account. This also involved guidance regarding Bounce Back Loans requiring me to be constantly engaged with the ongoing changes with the scheme to ensure I was educating customers appropriately. Within my sales role, I would have in-depth conversations with customers, building rapport but also to gain full understanding of their business, I would perform risk assessments to ensure accounts were being opened safely and following regulations, I would build complete personal and business profiles for the customer and perform credit checks.
