Global iPlayer was BBC Worldwide’s first direct-to-consumer video-on-demand service. The subscription service was a pilot on Apple’s iOS, and was available in Australia, Canada and fourteen European countries.I was marketing lead for all aspects of Global iPlayer’s pilot product development and launch, from the initial target audience research and business case to planning and delivering the acquisition and eCRM strategy. Key achievements include:• Defined marketing strategy for the business case which secured initial investment and approval for the Global iPlayer pilot• Worked with editorial, product and technology to define the consumer proposition and its ongoing development • Planned and managed the integrated multi-channel global launch campaign, which exceeded volume (app downloads & conversions) and subscription revenue targets• Created website and social media platforms and strategy for Global iPlayer • Developed data capture and retention strategy which maximised LTV of subscribers
