I graduated high school in 1998. I went on to run track at one college (sports have always been a passion of mine, born with the sport gene) went to another college for another passion of mine (video) that wasn't fully offered at the first one. I have had many life experiences, lost many loved ones along the way, over 10 that I was close to including my father when I was 14 & my 20 year old brother in 2004. I died on July 5th, 2003 due to a motorcycle accident I was in. Obviously, i was brought back & even the doctors told my mom an angel must be looking out for me because he didn't no how I was still alive/survived. I had a TBI (traumatic brain injury) - missed my brain stem by 3 millimeters, sternoclavicle fracture, turned disc n my neck & tore my ACL & PCL completely in half in my left knee. I had a hard road for many years not sure if I would be able to do a lot of things from small to big & sometimes not being able to do some of those things, including work. I fought against it, worked hard, used things that I learned from therapy to doctors overcame the odds & got my life back for the most part. Though I have had to struggle & I am left with things that can not be fixed or are an aftermath of the conditions I substained in my accident. After all that chance, doubt & uncertainty I can say...I have been with my employer since before opening in 2009. I started as a steward for just under a year and have been at my current position ever since. Within the company, which is owned by my tribe the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, I have graduated from Track 1 & Track 2 which is an opportunity for learning more about the casino & all the departments within. I participate & represented Firekeepers Casino Hotel in Drew Stantons Charity Kickball tournament for the past 3 years & 4 years doing different events in the Cereal City Corporate Cup.
