As a member of the Design Department at Taitem, I was part of a fantastic team providing Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing-Structural (MEPS) services for energy-efficient commercial, multi-family, and residential buildings. We provided these services for new buildings and retrofits of existing building. Our focus was on providing the most cost-effective and energy-efficient options available. We provided code compliant designs that typically exceed code requirements. We worked regularly with clients to provide heating, plumbing, and electrical designs that meet their expectations and requirements.I designed electrical services for buildings, sizing and specifying distribution equipment and provided support for HVAC and plumbing equipment. I also worked to specify light fixtures, lighting layouts, and lighting controls. I also provided fire alarm layouts and specifications.

As a member of of the Renewables department, I helped assure quality installations through the creation of detailed plansets, troubleshooting of equipment, and the review of installations. My responsibilities included submission of NYSERDA applications; drafting plansets, electrical diagrams, and labels in AutoCAD and Visio; structural attachment design and planning; specialty equipment vetting and purchasing; reviewing post-installation documentation as part of QA/QC and As-built record creation; process generation; and staff training.

• Developing an accurate costing method for jobs through analysis of project expenses, including material costs and acquisition, labor distribution, and overhead allocation• Pre-design projects to provide accurate pricing for sales team and to facilitate detailed system design after close of sale• Actively work with site evaluators to sharpen skills and ensure consistency of data acquisition and transmission

• Served as primary touch point between Project Managers and Installation crews, providing support and communication regarding existing, past, and future projects• Created necessary documentation for NYSERDA PON 2112/NY-SUN applications, included detailed 3-line drawings and site plans• Developed internal communication documents and methods that streamlined project management and company-wide tracking of job status• Compiled and submitted interconnection requests and completion letters with utility providers• Performed bulk and project specific purchasing for projects with a variety of vendors• Coordinated with AHJ’s to submit permit applications

• Provided support to sales staff by designing systems and preparing paperwork as required for solar sales• Managed solar projects after sale, including preparation and processing of NYSERDA incentive applications, utility interconnections, building permit and code officer interactions, and coordination of materials purchasing• Maintained contact with past customers, providing graphical representations of production and usage data• Developed tools and protocols to facilitate organization and dissemination of information to various parties within Halco, including administrators, managers, and sales staff

I was responsible for the rebuilding of our sputter deposition chamber and the submission of multiple publications of research conducted while I was a graduate student.

Funded under the Energy Frontiers Research Center entitled the Energy Materials Center at Cornell (EMC^2), I have been performing research towards uncovering better fuel cell catalysts and catalyst supports. Advised by Bruce van Dover (MSE) and Hector Abruna (Chem).

I maintained and regularly updated the impact database to ensure relevancy of action points. New actions are scored using the most up-to-date and relevant data accessible.

Supervised by Dr. Jason Engbrecht while working for the St. Olaf Positron Group, funded by the National Science Foundation and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Collected and analyzed data from primary gas-scattering experiment, which resulted in an improved value for the momentum-transfer cross-section of Positronium (Ps) in Helium gas. Results are summarized in paper published in Physical Review A. Further work done on building the world’s first slow positronium beam. Gained experienced in analysis programs (MathCAD, Origin), vacuum systems, and metal machine shop.
