Student worker position for Twilley's Coastal Systems Biogeochemistry Lab. Conducted soil sample preparation and data collection in addition to field work in Terrebonne wetlands. Field work involved operating on an airboat to obtain two types of soil samples by using either liquid nitrogen & copper rods or a Russian sediment/peat borer. Ensured accurate data records and safe, organized workspaces. The lab was studying two wetlands- one is growing & one is shrinking. I prepared soil samples to be tested for TOC, TP, TN using a precision scale, small tools, and either silver or aluminum capsules.
