Hi! I am Anna, a senior at Miami University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in primary education. I am will graduate in Spring of 2023. Throughout my time at Miami, I have had the opportunity to observe and assist in field experience at Fairfield Central Elementary, where I focused on designing small group lessons, using culturally relevant children's books and discussion prompts. My teacher education has informed my philosophy on teaching and learning: I believe in a whole-student approach, where students use their home lives and cultures to inform their understanding of course content.A fun fact about me is that I am a yoga instructor with my RYT200 license. As a teacher, I plan on incorporating yoga breathing and movement into our everyday routine in order to promote a positive, low stress learning environment for kids. My experiences in the education field and as a yoga instructor have taught me to differentiate my instruction to fit diverse learners and to teach, not only academic content, but also life skills such as deep breathing and stress management.
