My story..........I'm the daughter of Antonino and Katherine Russo ~ Italian immigrants. They came to the U.S. in 1960, from a charming little town by the sea, near Palermo, Sicily. It is the town of Carini. Together, they taught my 3 sisters and me the beauty of our heritage, along with some really awesome recipes! My passion for food and cooking grew out of so many wonderful days watching my parents, Nonna Anna, and Zia Rosalia putting all their love into the beautiful Sicilian dishes and confections they shared with us. These special moments are combined with sweet memories of growing up in my parents' restaurant in La Mesa, California, with all of us (mom, dad, and sisters) working side by side.Food love is contagious so you may see my husband, children, and grandchildren join me here once in a while! You'll get to know all of us!Although I've named this sight Simply Sicilian, please know that I will be offering dishes from all over the world, adding my own Sicilian twist!
