Works closely with and assist Senior Specialist providing prompt… Show more Assigned as Marine Placement Specialist assigning over 181 Civilian Mariners (CIVMARS) employed by Military Sealift Command for assignments to government owned and operated vessels geographically dispersed worldwide. Responsible for the daily coordination and support of civilian mariners employed by MSC. Provides HR services while tin a pool status. Maintains HRMS, or other approved personnel systems with up-to-date information. Works closely with and assist Senior Specialist providing prompt service to CIVMARs aboard ship as necessary and assuring smooth transition to/from a shore status to a ship, coordinating all travel and en-route arrangements. Coordinated CIVMAR travel orders/departures/arrivals with appropriate office and provides information to ship’s management as necessary. Coordinates with the Customer Support Center for medical appointments, follow-ups, and fit-for-duty clearances. Assembles information LER concerning CIVMAR status for disciplinary processing. Coordinates with administrative contract personnel to provide leave/time and attendance (T&A) information to Payroll Office so regular pay and subsistence reimbursement can be provided to employees. Validates and approves T&A documentation noting discrepancies or inaccuracies and coordinating correction. Validate and approves sign-in sheets from contract hotel to verify for payment of quarters coordinates training assignments as directed by the senior specialist or other higher authority. Show less
