This day camp sponsored by Children's Miracle Network, the hospital's medical staff and the Service League Volunteers, provides an up close and personal look at the many career and volunteer opportunities in health care. Supervised children ages 10 to 12 in different departments of the hospital and coordinated group activities for children that are at high risk for delinquency since this age group is often targeted by gang members seeking to increase their ranks.

This 5-week Health Education program exposes 20 high school students paid Internships that include 100 hours of classroom presentations and field trips along with 60 hours of internship. Developed an understanding of hospital organization, diagnosis, care plan development, patient assessment and treatment. Received instruction at Hartnell College for computer program design, presentation skills, and spend a week in the Nursing Skills Labs. Presented an "outstanding" case study review for a medical panel as our final exam.
