I am a mom who has taken the last six years to care for my young children. Now after a hiatus I am looking to teach again. I enjoy teaching and sharing the discipline of biology with others. I have taught biology for a community college in the past, taught labs while working to earn my Masters, and have taught for the American Red Cross. Since having my first child 6 years ago I have served in volunteer positions. I have written, implemented, and taught a curriculum for children that is part of the Women’s outreach on a military instillation in South Korea. I have been involved in a leadership position to aid soldiers spouses during deployments, and also for a time continued to volunteer teach for the American Red Cross, furthermore, I currently homeschool my own children. Homeschooling has been the greatest source of growth I feel in my teaching abilities, I am forced to see what works and what does not work to engage my kids in their drive to gain knowledge.
