This experience helped me to gain an understanding of working with people from different cultural backgrounds and I gained skills in project management and teamwork, which I have felt confident in transferring to my further job roles. Additionally, the experience of volunteering in a developing country taught me to be adaptable, resourceful, and innovative in delivering educational programs with limited resources. It was a unique and enriching experience that has had a lasting effect on my career.

I worked during the ACT2CAM for four summer camps over two consecutive years. I used my experience as a student with them previously and the skills I was developing at University to lead and teach a group of children through the writing, producing, developing and creating of a short film through their week-long summer camps. I was also responsible for their welfare throughout, and making their time not only an educational but enjoyable experience. I worked with children ranging from 8-17 years old. Still being young myself, and my first experience of responsibility and management over others, this role was key in my growth and development in my personal life and career.
