Clinical and translational lung fibrosis research - Prof. Dr. Antje PrasseUnderstanding the alarming prevalence of lung cancer in IPF patients

In July 2018, I received a 3-year PhD fellowship from the Sorbonne University and I officially started working on my PhD project in the Lab of Michel Cohen-Tannoudji in October 2018. For my 4th year of PhD, I received a fellowship from the ARC fondation (Fondation ARC pour la recherche sur le cancer). I successfully defended my PhD thesis on the 31st of May 2022.

From October 2017 until June 2018, I was working on my M2 project in the Lab of Michel Cohen-Tannoudji, where I previously absolved my Junior Practical Internship. My project aimed to identify new molecular regulators and signaling molecules which are implicated in the acquisition and propagation of the murine embryonic epiblast.

In January 2017, I joined the team of Early Mammalian Development and Stem Cell Biology (Department of Developmental and Stem Cell Biology) of Michel Cohen-Tannoudji at the Pasteur Institut in Paris for a 5 month laboratory internship. Under the supervision of Sylvain Bessonnard, I analyzed the implication of AGO2-mediated post-transcriptional regulation on early lineage specification and differentiation in the early mouse embryo.

To extend my experience in research methodology, especially in genome editing, I joined the bioinformatics and molecular genetics Lab of Prof. Dr. Ralf Baumeister as an intern for 8 weeks before starting my master studies. My project included the generating of Cas9-mediated fluorescent protein knock-ins in C. elegans and I acquired scientific skills in primer and sgRNA design, plasmid cloning and using blast.

In April 2015 I started my bachelor thesis in Daria Onichtchouk's Lab and I graduated from University of Freiburg in July. My project contained the investigation of prominent chromatin marks in Pou5f3 and Nanog zebrafish mutants.
